Purgan chakra
Thread is coming back from the Northern Woods, running from the flying maggots. He meets Maren and Kuno who are following tracks and entering the woods from the south again Thread enters the forest once again, as the sun sets.
The tracks eventually join a more beaten path. The group continues following, trying to discern what kind of people have been using this path. The sound of a horse follows them, and they decide to hide.
A large man, dressed and geared as an Anabaptist, a hood covering his face, rides the horse. He passes slowly and does not notice the group.
Half an hour later, they start to notice repeated patterns in fallen leaves, mud and even tree barks. It is the Purgan chakra - a sign of the Primer’s influence.
Psychonaut hunter
Before it is completely dark, they see some flashing lights. Upon following it, they find Fernex is hiding in a hunting pit. He points to the source of light, and explains they are mirror shards, used to attract animals - and psychonauts.
A crackling sound, followed by the sound of a large animal entering a pool. With the riflescope, Maren sees a horrendous creature. With wisdom, none of the group attacks it. The hunter observes, recording its pattern before trying to take it down.
Maren asks him why he has not notified Lucatore.
“The Broken Cross is not in the right state of mind to deal with a psychonaut.”
The creature continues its slow walk to the east, towards the hanging deer.
Campground
The envoys continue following the path, leaving Fernex behind. The path ends at a campground. Thread skilfully scans the camp and notices an exception: Amongst the men, who are of no known clan, stands Emissary Neva.
But the group is seen, and the camp guards point at them.
